I came to the United States from Uzbekistan. I love my life in NYC. My favorite thing about New York is its diversity. I was always interested in the culture of different ethnic groups, their traditions and of course, their cuisine. My homeland (Uzbekistan) is located in Central Asia and has ancient history. Located on the crossroads of a Great Silk Route Uzbekistan is rich in traditions and very delicious food. I love to cook and I am happy when my friends and my family members enjoy the food I cooked. I learnt to cook Uzbek, Russian, Armenian, Georgian, Tatar food from many ethnic groups that live in my hometown of Samarkand. Uzbek cuisine offers both traditional and vegetarian food.
